Queer Kinship Circle:
A Cross-Generational Space for Healing & Connection
A Place to be Seen, to Speak Your Truth, & to Feel Less Alone.
In a world where LGBTQIA2S+ people—especially trans and nonbinary folks—are facing rising scapegoating and dehumanization, it’s easy to feel isolated, unsafe, or overwhelmed. Many of us are longing for deeper connection, but don’t know where to start.
This group offers a brave, welcoming space for LGBTQIA2S+ adults across generations to gather, connect, and heal together through the power of group therapy.
This space is open to LGBTQIA2S+ adults ages 18 to 118 (we're willing to bend the rules for those over 118). The cross-generational nature of the group is part of its power. We believe in the wisdom of lived experience, and the alchemy that happens when queer elders and young adults share stories side by side.
We welcome you if you’re:
In your 20s and wrestling with family, dating, identity, or finding your place in queer community
In your 30s–60s and craving authentic connection, navigating life transitions, or recovering from burnout
In your 70s+ and reflecting on legacy, aging, loss, or the memories of surviving the HIV/AIDS crisis
Or anywhere in between, and simply wanting to feel seen and supported by people who understand
Why Join a Group Now?
Loneliness is at an all-time high. Even before the political attacks, queer and trans people have often been left to navigate life transitions, identity struggles, and relational wounds in isolation. Group therapy is a powerful antidote to that isolation.
Here, you don’t have to go it alone. You’ll sit in circle with others who get it—people of all ages, genders, and walks of life who are showing up for their healing.
What We Do Together
Who This Group is For
This is not a lecture or a lesson—it’s a living, breathing circle. Each week, we’ll explore topics like:
Identity, sex, love, dating, and desire
Life transitions, aging, grief, and healing
Belonging, chosen family, and queer ancestry
Relational patterns, boundaries, and self-expression
We’ll practice radical honesty—speaking from the heart and listening from the heart. Over time, the group becomes a mirror, a rehearsal room, and a kind of home.
Why Group Therapy Works
Psychiatrist and group therapy pioneer Irvin Yalom identified several factors that make group healing uniquely powerful. In this group, you’ll have the chance to:
• Feel less alone by realizing your struggles are shared (universality)
• Experience hope by witnessing others grow and change (instillation of hope)
• Practice new ways of relating in real-time (interpersonal learning)
• Express emotions you may have held in for years (catharsis)
• Offer and receive support, wisdom, and belonging (altruism and cohesion)
We’re not just talking—we’re connecting, transforming, and co-creating something bigger than ourselves.
